Scholarships
MIDLAND SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM GUIDELINES
- All members of the Midland Services Cooperative and their children are eligible to receive a $500.00 Scholarship, including employees and directors
- Applicants may only win a scholarship one time.
- After completing high school, applicants must have completed one semester in an accredited college, university, or technical school. All applicants must currently be a student in good standing.
- Applicants will be judged on leadership, scholastic achievement, extra curricular activities, motivation, and academic and life goals.
- There shall be two scholarships awarded each year.
- Grandchildren of members are not allowed to apply if their parents are not members of the cooperative.
- The selection committee will comprise of appointed community business leaders. Employees and directors of Midland Services shall not serve on the selection committee.
- Applications will be received by March 31st of each year, award recipients will be announced by May 15.
- Schools receiving application include: Hurley, Ironwood, Mercer, Mellen, Ashland, Drummond, Bayfield, Washburn, Port Wing, Maple, and Superior.
- Recipients will be asked to be recognized at the annual meeting
MIDLAND SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM
Instructions:
- Complete all parts of the scholarship application form. Mail the completed application form to: Midland Services Scholarship, P.O. Box 500, Ashland, WI 54806
- Give the “Reference Sheets to three people: Instructors, Youth Agents, Employers, Coaches, or Community Leaders. At least one sheet should be completed by someone not in the educational field. Reference sheets should be mailed to Midland Services at the above address.
- On a separate sheet of paper, include a one-page summary of some of the significant events of your life, and describe your educational goals.
- Scholarship Forms, One Page Summary, and Reference Sheets must be at Midland Services by March 31st!

- If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be asked to furnish a non-returnable photograph of yourself for publication
